Conservative and Mutual: Why We Hold These Together
Some people assume that the church cannot be both conservative in theology and mutual in ministry.
Beliefs
We believe men and women are both created in the image of God and are called to share in the life, service, and responsibility of the church. The Holy Spirit gives gifts for the building up of the body, and Scripture shows those gifts being poured out on both men and women. We want to make room for all believers to use their gifts fully and faithfully for the good of the church and the advance of the gospel.
This means encouraging and empowering both men and women to serve, lead, and teach in ways that are consistent with their gifting, character, and maturity in Christ.
Some people assume that the church cannot be both conservative in theology and mutual in ministry.
When we say we are egalitarian, we mean we believe men and women are created equally by God as image bearers and stewards, and are called together to share in His work.
